BLISS-This is a time when the marriage relationship is characterized by elements of fun,enjoyment,happiness,delight,pleasure,harmony,closeness and oneness.This is where most couples want their relationship to be paged.
THE OTHER SIDE OF BLISS-This is a time when a married couple's relationship experiences moments of unhappiness,sadness,violence,depression,gloom,agony,loss of a job or a loved one,grief sickness,bad times,communication breakdown,sorrow,distress,misfortune,suffering,aggression and deprivation.Such moments may be sporadic and short lived or prolonged and harsh.This is where most couples dread to be but yet find themselves living their lives.When poorly handled,the events in this part of the marriage life could push your marriage to a separation or Divorce.
I have just shared the introductory part of a book by the Kitoto's that i am currently reading,its called the other side of bliss..Its a real book but can be a bit scary especially if you are planning to get married,maybe it can make you change your mind..muhahaha..take heart Grace abounds. lol..
This book is full of stories of christian married couples and their experience of the other side of bliss.I guess on your wedding day when you are busy reciting the vows,you don't really have time to think about them,like when you say in sickness and in health you never really think about the sickness part..or rather you think sickness is malaria or a cold n oh well,you have medical cover!!!!wait up,Accidents happen daily on our roads,We will all give J.Gichuru airtime as she is doing a report on Road carnage and really get saddened and shocked and yet whatever she reports is just a drop in the ocean.Very many families get affected daily with this "national disaster'i don't know if its been declared a national disaster but hey!!!it is!!.I doubt any of us would think ati our spouses or ourselves can get involved in an accident n never get to walk again..gasp!!God forbid..but you know what ??when you say in sickness n in health,till death do us part,that is exactly what you are signing up for.As we speak,my blood brother not brother in Christ was in involved in a road accident 5months ago..oct 13..and has never walked up to this moment,will he be able to walk again??Only God knows,he still cannot grasp anything with his hands..yes he has a wife!!!Did the wife sign up for this??No she didn't..is it frustrating?yes it is,BUT She committed to stick thru..It can be any of us!!you know..So what am i saying,Marriage is for life and just like life we are not promised a bumpy free ride,tough days will come,easy days will come..One thing is for Sure when Christ is in it,its much easier to walk this life coz on our own,we cant make it,On our own we will give up on the way..we have seen many giving up,we shouldn't judge them but pray for them...Let me get back to my real and scary book"The other side of bliss"..I shall share a few stories from it.
